Case Study - Complete QSR Range

Client:

The Coffee Club is Australia’s largest home-grown café group of approximately 400 stores.

Challenge:

The Coffee Club, in collaboration with Variety - The Children’s Charity, wanted to run a competition for primary schoolers to draw their best Christmas-themed design, with the winning designs to be shown on cups and in stores nationally during the Christmas season.

Part of the challenge was ensuing they had a packaging supplier that could produce and execute a print run of the drawing submissions.

The Coffee Club also required a packaging supplier that understood their brand, wider business needs, customer expectations around packaging, and a supplier that could supply a complete QSR packaging range that included all cup sizes.

Solution:

Detpak were able to utilise its owned manufacturing capabilties, along with Launchpad™, our specialist, in-house packaging design agency and in-house R&D lab to help deliver on the campaign from both a design and production perspective.
Given Detpak’s wide scope of packaging capabilities for QSR, we could execute the Christmas promotion, as well as fulfilling the wider packaging needs for The Coffee Club, providing a complete QSR packaging range from the one supplier.

Results:

The result was a successful campaign in market across The Coffee Club stores nationally. The winning designs were clearly printed on-cup with clear co-branding for both The Coffee Club and Variety – The Children’s Charity.

With Detpak’s manufacturing capabilities and design lab, LaunchPad, The Coffee Club were able to receive a printed cup that aligned with The Coffee Club’s total packaging needs, executing the campaign brief.

Case Study 2 - Supply Chain

Client:

KFC is an American fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Louisville, Kenttucky, that specialises in fried chicken.

Challenge:

When COVID-19 hit, the global QSR market was drastically affected in all verticals of its supply chain, including takeaway food packaging, this included KFC.
Some QSR brands were engaging suppliers with an un-diversified and exposed supply chain network, which resulted in significant food packaging supply issues.
KFC needed a supplier that could keep them in supply as well as provide further product that their traditional supply could not provide during this time.

Solution:

Detpak utilised its owned manufacturing facilities in 7 different countries, including Australia, ensuring consistent supply for KFC and other major QSR customers during this period.

Result:

Utilising Detpak’s 7 manufacturing facilities, KFC were kept in full supply during Covid-19.

Detpak also supplied additional product lines to KFC during COVID-19 when KFC’s other suppliers could not fulfill their supply obligation, in particular, the Medium bag, Chip Carton and Snack Box.
